How To Join
You may obtain a membership card from any Directions Credit Union office. You may also call, e-mail or fax us to obtain the card. Fill out the card and return it, along with your initial savings deposit of a minimum of $25, to the credit union.
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, the USA PATRIOT ACT, a Federal law, requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account, including business accounts.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents. If you are opening an account on behalf of a business entity, documents relating to the business may also be requested. When you open an account, you will be asked to provide information that will allow us to identify you. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Your deposit is used to open your Regular Share Savings Account and is the only required account for all members. This is known as your "Primary Share Savings Account" and is your confirmation of ownership/membership. Once a member, you are eligible to apply for all of Directions Credit Union services.
THE MEMBERSHIP SHARE
Your initial $25 deposit into your savings account represents your share of ownership and makes you an active member of the credit union eligible for all other services the credit union has to offer. And you’ll start earning dividends immediately upon depositing your initial $25.
If you decide to close your account with the credit union, your entire savings balance will be available to you less a $10 fee if the account is closed within three months. However, you need never close your accounts with Directions Credit Union for any reason, as long as you remain a member in good standing.
Directions Credit Union is a community based credit union, which means membership is open to nearly everyone in the Toledo Area & Central Ohio.
